Massage is an extremely popular treatment and is the manipulation of body tissues, such as muscle and fascia, for therapeutic purposes. It has been used for thousands of years in almost every culture, with records in China going back to 3000 BC. Holding or rubbing part of the body that is causing discomfort is actually instinctive for humans.  Therapeutic Massage helps to detox the body, improve circulation of the blood and lymph, relieve stiff joints and can create a sense of well-being. It is also good for support when doing physical activities such as sport, running, physically active work and general keeping fit activities etc. - by helping those muscles being used (which can in turn help with their related joints). For those whom are losing weight, it can help support the body with this process, by its toning effect and softening/breaking down of the fatty tissue.
Remedial and Sports Massage is a skilled, manual and therapeutic application of soft tissue manipulative techniques; includes - deep and superficial tissue, soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, neuro-muscular techniques and mobilisation techniques.
Helps to reduce aches and pains and improve mobility and posture.  Aids in preventing/reducing sports injuries and improving recovery.
Soft tissue includes - muscle, tendons, ligaments and fascia. The techniques used involve them all and are a good way in reducing pain/discomfort and improve mobility after injury and repetitive strain, aiding in rehabilitation.
In between sports events, treatments can help improve performance and aid in the rehabilitation process after sports injuries
You don't have to have had an injury or play a sport to benefit from these treatments.  We can all have aches and pains at times, for some more chronic, which can occur from various reasons.
I also offer -
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Sound wave therapy for the purpose of releasing tissue tension, reducing pain, increasing blood flow and aiding in tissue repair. Also said to help break down old scar tissue.
Myofascial Dry Cupping
Dry Cupping is a technique used in conjunction with massage therapy.  The suction from the cups pulls blood to a region to stimulate healing. It is effective at stretching tight fascia and muscles; it helps the tissue develop new blood flow and stimulates the healing process. Cupping is generally painless but can leave temporary marks, like a hickey, in the area where the cupping was implemented.
